artist statement
Tisser des cendres is a dreamlike journey in which several times and several voices intertwine. The ashes - both traces and remains of a disappearance - allowed me to explore the motifs of archive, incineration and fire. Following the trail of a memory or a delirium, the story naviguates in search of reconciliation’s points taking place between resistance and acceptance. The installation Mailles après mailles results of my desire to accompany the writing with a gesture : the one of crocheting spiderwebs. For me, webs became connectors as well as openings to others stories. My thesis, Fredonner la nuit, tries to think the losses we carry with us. I propose a constant back-and-forth through a multitude of words, in the form of melodies or quotes, which I link together. These three projects are interwoven around my reflections on time, loss and memory, and the sensitive ways of approaching them.
