artist statement

Melissa Zoe Castelletti (*1998, Mendrisio) currently lives and works between Ticino and Bern.

Before graduating at the Master of Contemporary Arts in Bern, she studied at the CSIA in Lugano obtaining the Artistic Maturity in 2017, she continued her studies at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Brescia, then moved to Bern to attend the Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Hochschule der Künste, graduating in 2021.

Melissa’s artistic approach delves into the realm of the inner quest, providing a gateway to explore collective experiences and establish a common ground between the artist and the audience. Through diverse mediums such as installations, soundscapes, texts and drawings, she researches themes such as intimacy and safety.
